Each class relied on all of the other classes to do their part to keep the manor, castle and land running efficiently. The peasants did work for the knights which were also called lords. The knights would get land from high ranking nobles to keep and run the land for taxes and money. The Nobles were given land from the king which ruled all of the land. For the peasants freedom in return the kings expected the peasants to protect the land.
